ABOUT LYnne and Jas

DSCF1758.jpg

Together, we are Solace Kundalini Yoga. We trained side by side through the Kundalini Research Institute and completed the five-year Level Two program, a comprehensive journey into Yogi Bhajan’s teachings on stress and vitality, authentic relationships, mind and meditation, conscious communication, and the 21 Stages of Meditation.

Mantra is foundational to Kundalini Yoga — a sound current that reorganizes the mind and links the finite to the infinite. Through the sacred language, the practice becomes not ritual, but a living technology for awareness.

Lynne’s background in massage therapy and years of Hatha yoga bring a deep understanding of the physical body and therapeutic movement, while Jas’s spiritual roots and his work in mental health and addictions bring deep understanding of the emotional, psychological, and spiritual layers of practice.

Together, we offer a holistic, compassionate approach—grounded, inclusive, and centered on presence rather than performance.

Lynne Carroll, Kundalini Yoga Instructor

Lynne

Lynne Carroll is a Registered Massage Therapist with over 25 years of clinical experience and the founder of The Solace Centre in Nanaimo. Her work is rooted in nervous system regulation, and a deep respect for the body’s innate intelligence. She holds a Bachelor of Health Science and previously taught at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy.

Lynne has trained extensively through the Kundalini Research Institute and continues advanced study in Kundalini Yoga for Woman. Her background also includes 25 years of practice in Hatha variations. Over time, Kundalini Yoga became not just a discipline, but a way of living—shaping her approach to self-care, awareness, and sustainable practice.

Over decades of hands-on practice, Lynne’s work has become increasingly subtle and refined. Her approach to both massage and yoga now explores the quiet power of the unseen—how energy, breath, and presence shape healing beyond technique alone.

Her teaching is grounded, inclusive, and accessible, creating a supportive space for everyone. Lynne views Kundalini Yoga as both a precise science and a living practice, guiding students back to their own inner wisdom.

Jas Khalsa, Kundalini Yoga Instructor

Jas

Jas Khalsa began his journey with Kundalini Yoga alongside Lynne in New Mexico, where they completed their first training together. He continued into advanced training to deepen his own practice and to share these teachings with others. Their shared path in practice and teaching continues to shape the foundation of Solace Kundalini Yoga.

Professionally, Jas works with Island Health, supporting individuals navigating mental health challenges and addiction recovery. Within this setting, he has offered Kundalini-based classes to those in active drug and alcohol detox, as well as to inpatients in the psychiatric unit at NRGH. These experiences have affirmed for him the profound impact of breathwork, meditation, and yogic tools—how they can restore balance, stability, and hope, even in the most difficult moments.

Jas’s teaching is steady, compassionate, and responsive to each individual. His sessions are designed to meet students where they are, creating a safe, inclusive, and grounded space to reconnect inward. Drawing on breath, meditation, mantra, and intuitive guidance, he supports a return to inner strength and self-awareness.

Through Kundalini Yoga, Jas offers a practice that is not about force or performance, but about awareness and restoration—inviting each person to reconnect with their own inner wisdom and inherent wholeness.
